“I am so excited that Pioneer Water Tanks will be a part of the Take Care of Texas program through TCEQ. It is always so great to know that we are making a difference for all Texans and the water industry.” – Brandi Whitaker, Account Manager

In September 2023, we participated in the Hays County Annual Emergency Preparedness Fair in Kyle, Texas. Our team handed out kids’ activity books, stickers, reusable water bottles, rainwater gauges, and rainwater manuals. The resources and kid’s activities promote water conservation and rainwater harvesting as a sustainable water source. Families came to enjoy an Apache helicopter demo, a firefighter chili cook-off, and more while meeting their Hays County emergency first responders.

Promoting rainwater harvesting as a sustainable water source is an important goal of Pioneer Water Tanks America. Rainwater systems utilize rooftop space for collection, conveying the water into storage for later use. Rainwater systems utilize Pioneer Water Tanks for clean, safe water storage around the world and across Texas. Rainwater systems can supplement water use, reduce municipal water use, mitigate stormwater issues, and provide a water source where there aren’t other options.

Texas offers many resources on rainwater harvesting including:

a. AgriLife Extension Rainwater Harvesting Manual https://rainwaterharvesting.tamu.edu/publications/

b. The Texas Water Development Board Rainwater Harvesting Manual https://www.twdb.texas.gov/publications/brochures/conservation/doc/RainwaterHarvestingManual_3rdedition.pdf

c. Rainwater Harvesting Potential and Guidelines for Texas, by Texas Water Development Board https://www.edwardsaquifer.net/pdf/RainwaterCommitteeFinalReport.pdf

Texas has one of the most comprehensive laws protecting rainwater harvesting, the Texas House Bill 3391. In 2001, Texas excluded components of rainwater harvesting systems from sales tax, Section 151.355 of the Texas Tax Code.

To claim this exemption, the purchaser must furnish a Tax Exemption Application Form 01‐339 to the supplier at the time of purchase.
